Welcome to Your Jewish Community

Limmud Atlanta + SE is a unique Jewish community: a place where the agenda is set by volunteers for volunteers – by you. LimmudFest is a place where you are encouraged to be creative, take risks: try new things. Everyone teaches and everyone learns. Everyone is responsible for the experience this weekend. You make it happen. That’s why there are no participants or volunteers at LimmudFest: instead, everyone is a volunticipant

Who's Your Mama? Gestation, DNA, Diapers: The Constitution of Jewish Motherhood

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Recent scientific advancements in procreative technologies make it possible for an otherwise infertile woman to carry a fetus and give birth to it--all without sharing any DNA with that child. Does this make her a mother? Join in this raucous investigation of some of the classic Jewish texts and tensions about what constitutes motherhood.
